Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone and do what you really like. Hence I went on Friday the 11th of July all by myself to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. Normally my parents bring me to events or I bring someone else interested in fashion with me. Going by myself to all shows firstly was kind of awkward, but very soon I felt comfortable with all the amazing people around me and started making new contacts. I was like one of the youngest, I am just sixteen whilst everyone was an adult. I decided to spot some sneaker style, and so I did (which you will read later).
The first show I attended was Fernanda Fernandes. (You will find pictures of here show here!) My pictures had to much light, so the clothes were not very visible. I really enjoyed the show! Fernanda Fernandes reminded me of a fairytale that was set in an old forest, it was kind of a medieval theme, but that's what it made it stand out from other shows. Many different materials were used, like feathers, thin and thick leather, lace and a mix of different materials and fabrics in one outfit. It made me excited to see some more of her work in the future!

The second show I attended was Joelle Boers || Bregje Cox. You can see the pictures of the show on the first four. The pictures turned out really well. The best part of the clothing were the different shades of blue that were used and the cute prints. I would definitely wear some of their designs (it would be so cool if I actually did, wouldn't it?) The theme of the show fits my personal style without a doubt. I love wearing one shade of color like black and white or an all-pink outfit or whatsoever. The different shades of blue would be perfect! The parka's with the prints are so prodigious. When the first model started walking on the catwalk with this parka, I immediately started thinking: Wow! I want this, no I need this! But yeah.. Zoe, keep dreaming. My other compliments go to the styling of the hair and make-up! I made a good close-up of the twisted updo on the second and third photograph.

I really should take some classes for catwalk photography or is it just my camera? I am sad for not being able to show pictures of the shows NON by Kim and Franzel Amsterdam, but if you are curious. On the website www.fashionweek.nl and on my instagram (@stylepapillon) you can see some pictures.
NON by Kim was great, I loved how they used the different shoe styles of TOMS for the outfit. It was a broad topic, some sets were beachy, posh or decent. But I have to say, she did casted handsome models.. ;-)
Franzel Amsterdam: I was ' shocked' by the fact you could see the bra's of the models through the black dresses that first attended the catwalk. When one model started to wipe off the make-up of another model I though she was crying, but the rest started doing it as well and it actually belonged to the show which I really liked! The male models started showing up and dressed the girls with their clothing. For example normal men trousers, were culottes for women which was really cool. Well done for setting up such an amazing show!

Final but not least, Ready to fish by Ilja Visser, The show was in the Gashouder, the big building of Amsterdam Fashion Week. I like the shows there, but because it is so big, it's kind of hard to take pictures. The last two pictures of the ones above are from Ready to Fish by Ilja Visser. The hair was cool, simple and chic. The collection had a base color of nude, sand, black and white which had details of bright orange, sea-blue, green and yellow. It was a kinetic art movement and the music was good. I would wear one of their designs to an event with love!
